Business Rebranding – Logo, Menus & Shop Signage

Minos Pizza had been proudly serving pizza and pasta to the locals of Howick for 30 years.

The blue and white striped branding and Greek styled lettering of the 30 year old logo was looking dated and with new ownership, it was time to refresh, rebrand, renovate and appeal to a younger market.

The Brief

Our brief was to come up with a new look that said “modern Mediterranean cuisine”.
Minos wanted to get away from the clichéd “Greek” look of blue and white stripes and Greek font as the food they were offering on their menu now encompassed Italian and other Mediterranean flavours.
The client quite liked the new chalkboard they had at the front counter which displayed their takeaway menu so we honoured that and kept a black chalkboard style to the fonts and logo.
The branding needed to be bright and colourful to stand out on menus on the tables, pizza boxes and shop signage and translate well onto their new website.

The Outcome

Minos now have a bright, bold and modern brand which by keeping the overall shape of the old logo, still paid homage to it’s long history.

The outline of the logo is rough, as if written with chalk and the fonts used on the menus are also chalkboard fonts. By keeping the logo black and allowing the food to become the hero of the brand, it stands out and highlights the amazing food Minos is all about.

We also lent a hand in suggesting how to keep the brand consistent inside the restaurant and love the new black feature wall at the back!
